Bashir Chedrawee, owner and CEO of Simone's Kitchen, a Mediterranean restaurant with three locations in New York state, took 50 employees on a weeklong trip to Greece. He spent months planning and negotiating prices to make the trip possible, at a cost of $2,000 per person and six figures in revenue. Chedrawee had previously organized company outings within the US but wanted a bigger trip to a region that inspires the restaurant's cuisine.
