The Obidient Movement has criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its proposed deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the 2027 general elections. The group demanded greater transparency and independent scrutiny of the technology. In a statement signed by Worldwide Coordinator Dr Yunusa Tanko, the movement urged INEC to first address concerns about electoral transparency, result transmission, and public confidence before introducing new technologies. It also called for independent testing and public scrutiny of any AI systems, and alleged collusion with the APC, warning of a crisis in 2027.
