The Government of Liberia and the United States Government, through the Ministry of Health and in partnership with Catholic Relief Services and other development partners, have launched the Faith and Community Initiative in Liberia. The launch opened a three-day national co-creation workshop aimed at developing an approach to strengthen faith-based interventions that support gaps in the Memorandum of Understanding related to faith-based and community initiatives for improved health outcomes. The initiative, announced globally by the U.S. Government in August 2026, is part of the America First Global Health Strategy and is being implemented in 17 countries. It seeks to leverage the reach of faith-based and community organizations to complement national health systems and improve access to lifesaving health services.
