Natalie May was diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer at age 37, more than a decade younger than typical patients. She had noticed an irregular menstrual period before her diagnosis. May, who lives in Adelaide, Australia, later became known as "the vagina lady" for speaking to audiences about her experience to help others recognize early warning signs. Ovarian cancers are on the rise in younger people and are typically missed due to subtle symptoms.
