New data compiled by the advocacy group The Alliance for a Greater New York indicates that Amazon delivery vehicles are making New York City streets more dangerous. The report found that vehicles delivering Amazon packages received over 14,000 citations for violations between July 2020 and June 2025, including blocking emergency vehicles, obstructing fire hydrants, and speeding in school zones. The report drew support from a New York City official as the city continues its crackdown on delivery services under Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Amazon says it provides training and technology to help drivers safely navigate city streets.
