Prof. Isa Ali Pantami has again emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State. A Federal High Court had nullified his previous victory and ordered a fresh primary, which was held across 114 wards in 11 Local Government Areas. Pantami polled 2,054 votes to defeat Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki (389 votes) and Usman Aliyu Garry (112 votes). The primary committee chairman, Hon. Johnbull Tiemlong Shekarau, declared Pantami the winner.
