The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has intensified its crackdown on fuel under-dispensing, directing filling stations to calibrate and verify their dispensers and totalisers. The regulator warns that persistent or serious violations could lead to licence revocation. About 20 stations were reportedly sealed between 2025 and 2026 for the offence. The action comes as Nigerians face petrol prices of about N1,400 per litre in Lagos and Abuja, and up to N1,500 in parts of the East and North.
