OpenAI introduced a new AI agent system called Dots at its DevDay event on Tuesday. The agents are designed to function as always-on assistants that continue working across projects even after a user closes the chat. During the presentation, CEO Sam Altman showcased the agents as colorful, cartoonish blob avatars. Following the unveiling, the name Dots has caused confusion because it conflicts with other entities, including two Chinese AI companies and a small fashion retailer, and is difficult to search for online.
