Russia lost one of its irreplaceable Tu-95 nuclear-capable bombers in a deadly training crash

Russia's defense ministry said a Tu-95 strategic bomber crashed during a training flight in the Amur region, killing six crew members. A seventh crew member survived the initial crash and was hospitalized, according to state media. The ministry said the aircraft was not carrying ammunition and that the crew diverted it away from residential buildings. The Tu-95 forms the backbone of Russia's long-range nuclear bomber fleet and is no longer in production.
