Five African heads of state joined Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto and billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote at the groundbreaking ceremony for a $16 billion oil refinery project in Lamu, Kenya. The event was also attended by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. The refinery, expected to be completed in 40 months, will process 700,000 barrels of oil per day. Dangote emphasized that Africa must industrialize Africa and stop exporting raw materials.
