The Benin Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association commended the Edo State Special Court's judgment that sentenced three men and a woman to death for kidnapping and other offences. The convicts were arraigned on 11 counts including conspiracy, kidnapping, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms. The branch chairman, Omorodion Omoigui, stated at a press conference that the court demonstrated expeditious justice without compromising due process. He urged other courts to adopt similar case-management practices and noted collaboration among stakeholders contributed to the case handling.
