The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed December 7 for a ruling in a trial-within-trial to determine the admissibility of evidence in the trial of suspected coup plotters. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik set the date after counsel for the prosecution and defense adopted their processes and presented arguments. The Federal Government arraigned six defendants on April 22 on a 13-count charge filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The defendants include retired Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Gana, retired Navy Capt. Erasmus Victor, Insp Ahmed Ibrahim, Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Goni, and Abdulkadir Sani.
