The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is reshaping West Africa's refined petroleum products market, according to Gary Clark of S&P Global Platts. The refinery's ramp-up is reducing the region's reliance on distant imports and increasing the flow of Nigerian products to neighbouring countries. Clark noted that Nigeria has an opportunity to become a major regional refining and trading hub, though the region still faces a refined-products deficit.
