The Democratic and Leadership Alliance (DLA) has criticized the extension of the implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget to December 31, 2026. The group warned that over N35 trillion in the 2026 capital budget may be pushed into 2027. In a statement by Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, the DLA noted that this is the fourth extension of the same budget and raised concerns about the government's capacity to execute spending plans within fiscal years. The 2024 budget remains incompletely funded, and little has been done on the 2026 budget.
