2027: Nigerians must reject third-class status — Hashim

Dr Gbenga Hashim, the presidential candidate of the Accord Party, has called on Nigerians to reject the idea that the country must remain a third-class nation. In an Independence Day message issued in Abuja on Wednesday, he argued that Nigeria's underdevelopment stems not from a lack of resources but from the failure to effectively deploy its human, natural, and institutional capacity. He identified poverty, human trafficking, insecurity, institutional weaknesses, the weakening of the civil service, and inadequate security infrastructure as factors limiting development. Hashim also proposed a $4 trillion economy, crude oil production of 4 million barrels per day, and a petrol price of ₦605.
