Prophet James Omitade, Founder and General Overseer of Holy Trinity Authority Prophetic Church International, Ado Ekiti, has attributed Nigeria's poor governance, poverty, and suffering to endemic corruption and greediness. In a message commemorating Nigeria's 66th independence anniversary, he noted that patriotism promoted by the founding fathers has diminished, leading to banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, and unbridled corruption. Omitade stated that despite abundant human and material resources, Nigeria has not experienced positive gains due to misplaced values.
