Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Kukah, has identified uneven development as a key factor fueling regional and ethnic agitations for political positions and greater political inclusion in Nigeria. He spoke at a colloquium in Lafia marking Nasarawa State's 30th anniversary, with the theme 'Unity in Diversity: Three Decades of Building a Cohesive Nasarawa State.' Kukah noted that citizens are more concerned about equitable distribution of development projects than the origins of political leaders. He added that Nigeria's leaders have not effectively managed the country's diversity, contributing to poverty and disunity.
