The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is unhappy with a decision made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding a recent football match involving Edo Queens and Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies. The match, part of the WAFU-B championship, ended in a tie after regular play, and Edo Queens won during a penalty shootout. However, Ampem Darkoa protested, claiming that the rules required extra time before penalties, which the referee did not enforce. CAF agreed with the protest and decided to cancel the match, saying the referee had made a mistake. The NFF is now appealing this decision, arguing that Edo Queens should not be punished for the referee's error since they followed the official's instructions. They believe that since the match was already completed, the original result should stand and that any consequences should be fair and based on the rules. The NFF is asking CAF to reconsider their ruling and maintain Edo Queens' victory.
