Interswitch, a major payments and digital commerce company in Africa, launched the sixth edition of its TechConnect event in Owerri, Imo State. This event brought together people from government, finance, technology, and business to discuss how financial systems can adapt to a fast-changing market. During the event, Mr. Justice Okoye, the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, talked about how connected systems can help improve services and boost economic participation. Tyoyila Aga, from Interswitch, emphasized the need for financial systems to evolve to be more flexible, secure, and inclusive as they become more digital. He mentioned that these systems should work together rather than operate separately. A panel discussion focused on how government, industry, and talent can work together to build a strong digital economy. The speakers highlighted the importance of supportive government policies, innovation from the private sector, and developing digital skills to create a responsive ecosystem for new opportunities.
