In a speech for Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized that for Nigeria to prosper, the country needs to focus on productive work, industrial growth, and creating jobs, rather than just having cheaper goods. He noted that Nigeria has a large young population full of talent and ambition, and it’s important to turn this potential into productive work instead of letting it become a source of frustration. Tinubu stated that his government plans to make jobs and business growth central to its policies. He mentioned using Nigeria's gas resources to help create new industries, support businesses in reviving factories, and improve internet access in underserved areas. The President wants to invest in skills that employers need and provide support for local businesses. He expressed a desire for more local production in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology, encouraging Nigerians to make more products, feed cities, and sell goods globally. He also hopes to see young Nigerians start successful businesses that create jobs for others.
