A new company called Swift Telephone Network Limited (STN) is starting to provide telecom services in Nigeria. They have received a special license called a Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) that allows them to operate in the telecommunications market. This is significant because two major companies, MTN and Airtel, currently have a large share of the market, controlling 86% of all subscribers. The entry of STN could change the competition in the telecom industry in Nigeria.
