The article discusses comments made by Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), regarding their presidential candidate, Donald Duke, ahead of the 2027 elections in Nigeria. Baba-Ahmed believes that Duke is the best candidate compared to others running for president. However, he acknowledges that having a strong candidate alone isn't enough to win the election. Baba-Ahmed emphasizes that the PRP is actively working on forming alliances with other political parties to strengthen their chances, rather than relying solely on Duke's qualifications. He wants to ensure that any coalition is based on shared values and proper processes, rather than just pushing for Duke to be the candidate because of his reputation. He also highlights the importance of the upcoming election, stating that it could significantly impact Nigeria's future and development. The article notes that there are ongoing efforts among opposition parties to unite, with Donald Duke being a key figure in these discussions.
