In this article, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar questions how the Nigerian government was able to give money to over 10 million people who supposedly do not have phones, as claimed by the chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda. Yilwatda mentioned that many of these beneficiaries are poor and do not have access to phones, TV, or social media, raising doubts about how they could be contacted and paid. Atiku challenged Yilwatda to explain the process of identifying and transferring the money to these individuals, especially in regions affected by insecurity, like Borno and Yobe. He asked if the money was delivered in person and demanded proof of transactions if it was sent to bank accounts. Additionally, Atiku criticized the current government's economic policies, stating that the past three years have led to a severe cost-of-living crisis in Nigeria, making it hard for families to afford basic needs. He also responded to President Bola Tinubu's optimistic speech about the country's future by emphasizing that speeches alone cannot solve the financial struggles of families.
