‘Soludo should stop hiding under Tinubu to attack Obi’ — Okorie

In the article, Chief Chekwas Okorie, who founded the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), criticizes Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for attacking Peter Obi, a presidential candidate from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Okorie claims that Soludo is using his support for President Bola Tinubu as a way to disguise his criticism of Obi. Okorie points out that despite Soludo's attacks, Obi has remained respectful towards him. He believes that Soludo's animosity towards Obi stems from three key events: Obi defeating Soludo in the 2009 Anambra governorship election, Soludo's disqualification from the APGA primary in 2013 (which he blames on Obi), and a recent senatorial primary where Obi's popularity helped another candidate win. Okorie recalls a 2022 article by Soludo that marked the beginning of his public criticisms of Obi. He describes Obi as a strong presidential candidate and urges Soludo to focus on the pressing issues in Anambra State instead of attacking Obi. Okorie concludes by asking Soludo to leave Obi alone and to pay attention to the needs of the people in his state.
