The Federal Government of Nigeria is taking steps to help the textile and garment industry in Aba, located in Abia State. They recognize that businesses in this area face challenges, especially with infrastructure and access to financing. John Uwajimogu, an adviser to President Bola Tinubu, mentioned that the government is looking for ways to support these businesses to boost the local economy. During a meeting with Abia's Governor Alex Otti, Uwajimogu highlighted Aba's strong industrial base and the government's interest in bringing more projects and investments to the state. They aim to improve conditions for businesses in the textile sector. Additionally, the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) is seeking land to create a large farm estate in Abia, which would help farmers by providing necessary resources and access to markets. Governor Otti expressed support for this agricultural initiative, emphasizing the importance of increasing local food production to reduce reliance on imports and improve food security in the state. He instructed his team to find suitable land for this project.
