United is teasing Delta for not having Starlink on its planes, and trying to lure loyal customers with its fast WiFi

United Airlines is trying to attract customers from Delta and American Airlines by highlighting its fast in-flight WiFi, which uses a service called Starlink. Delta does not have Starlink on its planes, and some of its passengers have complained about this. To entice travelers, United is offering to match the loyalty status of Delta and American customers until October 15. This means if someone has a certain status with Delta or American, they can get the same status with United for a limited time, which helps them maintain benefits when flying with United. United was the first U.S. airline to partner with Starlink, and they aim to have the service on all their planes by the end of next year. In contrast, Delta has chosen to use a different service called Amazon Leo, which will be installed on 500 of its planes by 2028. Elon Musk, the founder of Starlink, has publicly criticized Delta for not using his service, even suggesting that Delta's CEO might lose his job over the decision.
