Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has recently appointed a total of 1,720 aides, including 10 former local government chairmen as Special Advisers and 1,710 as Executive Assistants. This event took place during a ceremony marking Nigeria's 66th Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of Ebonyi State. During the ceremony, Nwifuru also honored three traditional rulers by giving them staff of office. He reflected on the history of Ebonyi State, emphasizing the sacrifices made by its founders and the importance of planning for the future. He stated that his administration focuses on education, infrastructure, health, and security. In education, the governor highlighted the construction of new classrooms, provision of teaching materials, and scholarship opportunities for graduates. He mentioned ongoing projects at various universities, including new buildings and improvements to existing facilities. On infrastructure, Nwifuru noted that his government has built over 1,000 kilometers of roads and is working on urban renewal projects. He has also invested in road construction equipment to enhance local capabilities. In healthcare, he announced a revitalization plan that includes funding for primary healthcare and improvements in medical services. Nwifuru believes that a healthy population is crucial for the state's development. Overall, he stressed that while celebrating the past 30 years, there is a responsibility to ensure a better future for the people of Ebonyi State.
