Armed men, believed to be bandits, have kidnapped travelers on the Owerri-Onitsha Expressway in Imo State, Nigeria. This happened on Thursday morning when they stopped two buses that were traveling from Onitsha to Owerri. The exact number of people taken is still unknown. The bandits took advantage of slow traffic caused by cattle crossing the road to launch their attack. Reports suggest that this is not the first time such incidents have occurred on this road, with some victims previously released after paying ransoms. For example, a man and his daughter were kidnapped about three weeks ago and released after a ransom of 29 million Naira was paid. The police have not yet commented on this recent kidnapping incident.
