On Nigeria's 66th Independence Day, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri released nine inmates from prison as a gesture of mercy. This decision is part of his powers under the Nigerian Constitution. The inmates were serving different sentences in correctional facilities in Adamawa State and one in Plateau State.
