Telecom funding boosts South Africa’s FDI inflows to near three-year high

In the second quarter of 2026, South Africa saw a significant increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which more than doubled to $3 billion. This surge is largely due to funding in the telecommunications sector. As a result, FDI inflows are now at their highest level in nearly three years.
