Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang granted absolute pardon to 130 inmates as part of activities marking Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary. The governor also commuted death sentences. The pardons and commutations were announced in connection with the anniversary. The state joined the rest of the country in marking the occasion.
