Troops rescue 10 prospective corps members abducted in Imo

Troops of the Nigerian Army repelled simultaneous attacks by terrorists on two battalions in Adamawa State. The attacks targeted the 226 Battalion (Motorised) at Garkida in Gombi Local Government Area and the 232 Battalion at Garaha in Hong Local Government Area at about 1 a.m. on Thursday. The troops forced the attackers to flee towards Garkida on motorcycles, after which the Army's Spartan element trailed and struck the fleeing terrorists, neutralising 16 of them. Three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action guns, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines and some cartridges were recovered, and troops are conducting follow-up operations while reorganising their defensive locations.
