Bayero’s camp kicks as Sanusi rides horse to public event despite ban

The camp of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has reacted to Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II riding on horseback to a public event despite a state government restriction on horse-riding and Durbar processions in the metropolis. Sanusi rode to the Sani Abacha Stadium for Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary celebration, having initially left his palace by vehicle before mounting a horse at Kofar Mata. He returned to the palace on horseback after the event, with supporters cheering along the route. The Bayero camp questioned what action the state government would take over the reported breach of its directive.
