The Super Eagles have departed Abuja for Moscow ahead of an international friendly against Russia scheduled for Tuesday, October 6. The team is travelling with players from the domestic NPFL and backroom staff, while Coach Eric Chelle will join them directly in Russia after not returning with the team from Guinea-Bissau. Captain Wilfred Ndidi has withdrawn from the friendly, and the bulk of the call-ups will fly directly to Russia from their various bases. Coach Chelle plans to assess several players ahead of the U23 AFCON qualifiers in November.
