Nigeria's Hubpharm Africa and Services has won the second edition of the ECOWAS Startup Awards, receiving a $30,000 prize. The competition, which aims to identify innovative businesses contributing to economic development in West Africa, saw Hubpharm beat Senegal's Gaynako and Côte d'Ivoire's myOpinion. ECOWAS also unveiled a Private Sector Academy and announced plans to increase the first prize to $50,000.
