Professor Auwalu Yadudu of Bayero University, Kano, said Nigeria's judiciary has not performed as poorly as perceived, despite the presence of erring judicial officers. He noted that the National Judicial Council would enjoy more public acceptance if reconstituted to include more persons from outside the judiciary. Yadudu made these remarks in an interview, acknowledging that judicial officers cannot openly defend their actions.
