Smit Machchhar, captain of Flydubai Flight 1073, described how he helped save the aircraft after being stabbed by his copilot. In a video call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Machchhar explained that he opened the cockpit door despite his injuries. The flight, carrying nearly 180 passengers, dropped over 15,000 feet before the first officer was subdued and the plane diverted safely to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Machchhar has been praised for his actions.
