Former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima, has expressed confidence that Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari can lead President Bola Tinubu's campaign to victory in 2027. Yarima, who governed Zamfara from 1999 to 2007, described Yari's appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council as fitting. In a statement by his special assistant, Saifullahi Abubakar, Yarima said he made the remarks in Gusau during the Zamfara at 30 anniversary celebrations. He attributed Tinubu's choice of Yari to his pragmatic leadership, team spirit, exposure, and appeal to critical stakeholders across the country.
