The Ekiti State Government has announced plans to cut transport fares by 50% and has rolled out 15 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses. Governor Biodun Oyebanji said the deployment of the buses, which coincided with Nigeria's Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of the state's creation, marks a major step in reducing transport costs for the people. The initiative is in line with President Bola Tinubu's directives to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
