The prosecution in the trial of Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, has opposed the defence's insistence that the Director General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Ajayi, testify in person. Prosecution counsel Akinlolu Kehinde, SAN, argued that it was wrong for Sowore's lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, to demand the DG's personal appearance as a subpoenaed witness. The case, before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja, involves cybercrime allegations against Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress. Sowore is accused of publishing posts on X and Facebook in August 2025 describing President Bola Tinubu as a criminal.
