Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has denied ordering the arrest of opposition supporters wearing "Tinubu Must Go" T-shirts in Maiduguri. In a statement on Friday, Zulum said he was shocked to hear that the arrests were linked to his government, insisting he was not aware of the incident. He emphasized that his focus remains on restoring peace and rebuilding Borno after years of Boko Haram insurgency, rather than targeting political opponents. Zulum added that he has repeatedly risked his life to protect all residents, including opposition members, and that only desperate politicians would order such arrests.
