Three people were injured when alleged thugs opened fire on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters during consultative meetings in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State. The party's governorship candidate, Sir Arthur Javis Archibong, said the violence began at the Palace of the Paramount Ruler and continued at the African Club, where vehicles were damaged. The victims were rushed to hospital for treatment. Javis Archibong alleged that the attackers also fired at the party's convoy and vandalized supporters' vehicles.
