The Jigawa State Government has converted 1,200 former J-TEACH personnel to permanent and pensionable status and recruited an additional 820 youths under the J-TEACH programme. The move aims to address teacher shortages and improve pupil-teacher ratios, particularly in underserved rural communities. Governor Umar Namadi presented appointment letters to beneficiaries and handed over 450 bicycles donated by Guaranty Trust Bank to pupils who travel long distances to school. The appointments were designed to address inherited gaps in the education sector.
