An Indian pilot who was attacked by his co-pilot on a flight from the UAE to Israel has spoken publicly for the first time, stating he could not let all those people die. Despite suffering injuries, he managed to open the cockpit door, enabling passengers and crew to subdue the co-pilot and make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The co-pilot has been returned to the UAE, where authorities are investigating whether the incident involved terrorist activity or intent. The mostly Israeli passengers were later flown back to Israel on a replacement plane.
