A multiple-vehicle crash at Hawan Kibo in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State resulted in at least 20 confirmed deaths and scores of injuries on Friday evening. The accident occurred around 5:00 p.m. when a truck reportedly lost control while descending the steep bend, crashing into other vehicles. Eyewitnesses described a scene of confusion as residents, travellers, and emergency responders worked to rescue trapped victims. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State, Corps Commander Adelaja Ogungbemi, confirmed the incident and death toll, stating that rescue personnel were deployed to evacuate the injured and recover bodies.
