Dr. Kennedy Anyachebelu, an independent consultant with the Clinton Health Access Initiative, has cautioned against directly linking shingles to HIV. Shingles is popularly referred to in some communities as the 'Calabar belt'. Anyachebelu emphasized that shingles does not automatically mean a person has HIV.
