The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has warned disability service providers against lapses in managing residential homes, stressing that the safety, privacy, dignity, and best interests of children with disabilities must be protected. The agency urged providers to strengthen safeguarding measures, improve accessibility, and ensure compliance with child-protection and data-protection requirements in publicity, fundraising, and documentation. The warning was given by LASODA General Manager Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal at the 2026 Stakeholders' Forum in Ikeja, Lagos. The forum, themed 'Harnessing Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Advance Disability Inclusion in Lagos State,' brought together service providers and government agencies to examine challenges affecting service quality and safety.
