The Economist magazine has suggested that President Bola Tinubu may win the 2027 presidential election despite public discontent over insecurity, economic hardship, and government performance. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) responded that the cost-of-living crisis, rather than religion or ethnicity, will determine voter choices, and disagreed that Tinubu could win. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) stated there is no pathway to Tinubu's re-election without manipulation. The Presidency defended Tinubu's reforms and countered the opposition's claims.
