The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday ordered that Arinze Nwogba be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre for allegedly impersonating Prof Segun Aina, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Justice Salim Ibrahim ruled that Nwogba would remain in custody pending the ruling on his bail application, which was moved by his lawyer, Christian Ejike. The judge fixed October 7 at noon for the bail ruling and adjourned the matter until October 19 for the commencement of trial. The Inspector-General of Police filed six counts against Nwogba in charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/612/2026, dated September 18 and filed September 21 by Samuel Mallum. Nwogba, who resides in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and others now at large, were alleged to have committed the offence sometime in 2026.
