Civil servants in Ondo State recorded about 50 per cent compliance with the three-day warning strike on Friday, with federal offices and the state Civil Service Commission largely shut while some ministries remained open. The strike followed a directive by the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) for federal, state, and local government workers to withdraw services over unmet demands. At the Federal Secretariat in Akure, most offices were closed, though a few workers were seen within the premises, some stating they were only attending to personal matters. Similar closure was observed at the Ondo State Civil Service Commission, but some state ministries, including Culture and Tourism, were open with workers present.
